Two high school friends form an acoustic duo, and when they move to Philadelphia for college, they cross paths with two other musicians to form Modern Baseball… While playing gigs in the local scene, the foursome takes time to write Sports, and the album drops in 2012 on Lame-O records. The emo / pop-punk sound works well with the earnest, relatable themes: meaning of life, social media, moving back home, girls and jocks, moving away, etc. It’s a fun album with obvious ‘90s emo influences, and the songs to check out are “Re-Do,” “Tears Over Beers,” “Hours Outside in the Snow,” and “See Ya, Sucker.”
