Mr. K does it again! Anything Danny Krivit touches turns to gold, and this time around the veteran NY DJ goes in on the jazzy side of things. Up first is a totally unexpected edit of The Crusaders‘ jazz funk staple “Street Life.” Instead of going the obvious route, Mr. K taps the oft-overlooked breakdown segment of the track, extending and teasing for a solid six-and-a-half minutes. The result is subtle, but totally effective in putting a spell on the dance floor. On the flipside, Roy Meriwether’s 1972 secret weapon “Nubian Lady” turns up the funk for to get the dancers out in force. Recommended.
