Another brilliant excursion into sound from the unpredictable Nicolas Jaar. Seems the only thing you can really predict about Jaar’s releases is that they will be quality! The versatile producer is able to create music in various styles, from slow burning new disco, deep house, downtempo, and ambient, and now you can chalk up emotive post-dubstep to the list. “Don’t Break My Love” takes cues from the James Blake and Burial playbook, with lush layers of texture and vocals over intricate organic drum programming. “Why Didn’t You Save Me” is a bit more experimental, with IDM like drums and some very Boards of Canada vibes going on. Comes in a minimalist pic sleeve.
