Opeth’s eleventh reissued for Rocktober! For 2014’s Pale Communion, the Swedish metal band takes on a more melodic approach resulting in a sound equally moving as it is heavy. Producer/frontman Mikael Akerfeldt has said, “I wanted to do something more melodic with this album, so there’s stronger vocal melodies and more melodies overall for this album.” This stylistic shift is apparent throughout, especially on the single “Cusp of Eternity,” “Elysian Woes,” “Moon Above, Sun Below,” and the grand closer “Faith In Others.” Pale Communion is also noted as the first Opeth album to feature keyboardist Joakim Svalberg. 2018 pressing on double 180 gram clear colored vinyl, as part of the Rocktober reissue series.
