Key repress! We’ve been waiting a bit for this one. It’s one of the earlier releases from Paranoid London, the duo that seems to be able to do no wrong when it comes to mining house’s past for inspiration. Sure “Paris Dub 1” is simple – made up of just drums, a 303 line and Paris Brightledge’s vocal – but it adds up to more than just the sum of its parts. Nasty and freaky, the track creeps up on you and you’ve lost it before you even know what hit you. With so many producers aping the sound of late 80s Chicago it’s refreshing to hear someone get it right while putting a bit of their soul into it. Recommended.
