Tear the roof off the sucker. Doesn’t get much more classic than this monster of an album from Parliament. Originally released in 1975, Mothership Connection was the band’s fourth studio full length, and arguably their best. With the addition of Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley (who had just left the JB’s), George Clinton, Bernie Worrell, Bootsy and the rest of the gang proceeded to funk like never before, all the way to the mothership. Includes the jams “P. Funk (Wants To Get Funked Up),” “Mothership Connection,” “Give Up The Funk,” and more. Even if you’ve never heard this album (shame on you), you will most likely recognize many moments as it was heavily sampled by Dre for The Chronic. Do your earhole a favor and pick this limited edition repress while it lasts. Essential!
