Dark and brooding effort from Britain’s Pris. After turning heads with releases on his own Resin imprint and Stephen Bishop’s Opal Tapes project, the techno producer continues the narrative. Driving, reductionist club tracks provide the bookends for some decidedly meaty ambient excursions. Everything is gritty, scratched to its core, but you wouldn’t call it noise. While the opening and closing tracks might be more geared towards the dancefloor, the entire released is imbued with a sense of unease and isolation. Cold drones pass through as tortured sounds scrape away the surroundings. The experience is heavy but worth getting lost in.
