Key repress of an early one from the Psychemagik boys. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that the UK duo already had their sound down pat this early on in their career. Second release in and they’ve clearly defined their sound and approach. It’s all hard to find cuts, edited with precision and skill. For “Persian Rub” they chop up Massara’s version of the disco unclassic “Margherita” and give us a loop heavy version that is sure to slay. Not quite sure what’s going on with the flip side, though. Maybe it’s some hard to find Japanese disco? Who knows, whatever it is “Tokyo Takedown” rides a supremely smooth disco groove. Pick this one up with the swiftness, it won’t be around long.
