“Atlantic Oscillations” marks the start of a new chapter for William Holland. It’s the first straight-up Quantic release in three years (he’s stayed busy with Flowering Inferno and The Western Transient as well as collaborative projects with Nidia Gongora), and the first since relocating to NYC. “This record feels like it grew naturally as I grew to know New York. I had started the record with electronic sketches in Ableton but soon found that with my new studio setup I was able to record everything with live musicians.” The result is Holland’s most straightforward dancefloor-tuned effort in a while, with the A-side oozing with vintage New York disco vibes (run through the Quantic filter). Side B sports a more tech’d-out version courtesy of The Maghreban and Quantic’s own ‘Disco Dub’, stretched out and red hot in classic Jamrock style. Features Caito Sanchez from Midnight Magic on drums.
