Deadstock find of this 7″ gem from 2008. Released on obscure imprint Peripheral Enterprises by the equally obscure Black Cat band, this 7″ features two delicious sides of hard, dubby funk. Kinda reminds me of the Poets of Rhythm. “Lovin You” is that slow burning magma funk, complete with great open break. Haven’t had to say this in a while, but “in the eternal battle of A-Side vs B-Side, B-Side Wins Again!!!” “Kingston Cardova” is a great JA-funk take on the classic Meters’ track. Goes for around $25 on the secondary market, priced to move at the Lab. Recommended.
