Deadstock find! We were able to score a handful of original 1981 copies of Marc Barreca’s debut album for all the ambient music lovers out there. Twilight was initially released on K. Leimer’s Palace Of Lights imprint in 1980 (this is the second pressing from ’81) and found Barecca exploring Eno-inspired soundscapes and atmospheres. The sound is often sparse and minimal (“Commerce And Industry,” “Dream Time,” “Music For Graveyards”) with interesting use of synthesizer along with field recordings and plenty of reverb treatments. Reminds me a lot of the darker tracks from Eno’s On Land, with a bit of Music For Airports influence in there as well. Excellent stuff for the solo zone out sessions.
