Early single from one of Italy’s most prominent post punk/new wave bands. Formed in 1979 by frontman Marcello Michelotti, Neon came up in Florence’s electronic underground and would experiment with no-wave, new wave, gothic and new romantic sounds. 1981’s Tapes Of Darkness was their second release, documenting their progression and experimentation through said styles, touching on Joy Division, Human League, and Ultravox sounds. Check the manic energy of “Boxes,” the gothic pulse of “Spiders,” and the heavy beat of “Drivin.” Limited remastered repress of 250.
