Eccentric Soul is Numero Group’s flagship series dedicated to unearthing and compiling the soul gems that “could have, and should have” been. The latest entitled Sitting in the Park centers around Chicago radio DJ Bob Abrahamian’s collection, which consisted of around 35,000 “carefully-selected” 45s from ‘60s – ‘70s windy city soul and group soul artists. The host of an acclaimed radio show (of the same name as the title of the record) on Chicago’s WHPK, Abrahamian passed away in 2014 but his life’s work of amassing “impossible-to-find” tracks live on to tell tales of love, pain, and life. Check out “How Could You love Him” by Shades of Brown, “Girl in the Window” by The Mist, “Give Me One More Chance” by Procedures, “Try It (You’ll Like It)” by Master Plan Inc, “Moaning And Crying” by The Dontells, and “Southside Chicago” by Otis Brown.
