2004 release from one of Detroit’s finest. Omar-S’ records are like a good strip club. You never know what you’ll get, but you know it’s gonna be good (at least pre-economic meltdown). “Always There” starts it off with a simple piano hook like something you might kick out by accident as a kid. But Omar builds around it until you’re like “this is genius!” “Give It To Me” harks back to the early days of house with the signature hi-hat and disco edit feel. B-side wins with “For Us All,” a jazzed out, afro-house number that builds oh so slowly.
