After helping thrust grunge rock into the mainstream with Ten, Pearl Jam released Vs. in 1993. Rather than building on and/or attempting to replicate the success of its debut, the Seattle set scaled back commercial efforts (like consciously deciding NOT to shoot music videos) and delivered an album with a looser, rawer and more aggressive sound. The strategy… or non-strategy worked, and Vs. went on to achieve much acclaim while giving fans big singles like “Go,” “Animal,” and “Daughter.” This is the official 2016 reissue courtesy of Epic presented on nice 180g vinyl.
