A true pioneer, Donovan Germain forayed into the reggae world in the 70s. Having worked with the likes of Sugar Minott, Freddie McGregor, Tenor Saw, Buju Banton, Beres Hammond, Audrey Hall, and more, Germain’s roots / lovers rock / digital productions are widely praised, and his Penthouse Studio in Kingston remains an iconic and renowned launch pad for reggae music. Revolutionary Sounds: Dub Out Her Blouse & Skirt Vol.1 is the prolific producer’s first dub LP from 1979, and it is a 10-track collection of killer rhythms from Germain, heavily touched up with echo, reverb, delay, and all types of wicked sound effects. Originally released through Brooklyn’s Keith’s Record Shop, the record also features a brilliant cover art.
