Third album from Sly & The Family Stone. Originally released in 1968, Life found the Bay Area funk pioneers further exploring their own brand of soul and funk, largely lead by Sly Stone’s innovative compositions. The album wasn’t a huge commercial success (at least not to the extent of their previous effort Dance To The Music), though it received positive reviews from the critics and would eventually be heavily sampled for numerous hip-hop and electronica tracks. Includes “M’Lady,” “Fun,” “Love City,” “Life” and more, 11 tracks in all.
