Third studio album from New York based Son Lux. Lanterns was originally released in 2013 and was the first album that Son Lux’s Ryan Lott had produced rather organically. His debut took nearly four years to complete, while its follow up was finished in just 28 days. The music is complex and experimental, but aims to get beyond just being experimental. Instruments that would not make typical bedfellows are juxtaposed against each other to great effect. It’s the sound of disparate forces coming together in order to breakout of the digital realm. Includes the songs: “Lost It To Trying,” “Easy,” and “No Crimes” featuring Peter Silberman of the Antlers. Nine tracks in all. Released by Joyful Noise Recordings on clear vinyl with a download code.
