Major label debut from the Afghan Whigs. 1993’s Gentlemen is the Ohio-based band’s fourth studio album and the one to move them from the indie circuit (Sub Pop) to the majors with Elektra. The band came up in the grunge movement (their 2nd album was even recorded by Nirvana producer Jack Endino), but stood apart with blues, soul and r&b influences. By the time Gentlemen was released, The Afghan Whigs had totally distanced themselves stylistically from the grunge aesthetic of their peers and produced their most successful album to date. This deluxe reissue comes on 180 gram vinyl and comes with full color insert with lyrics and photos of the band.
