Classic rock dudes, this is your shit right here. Even though it was released in 2002, the Black Keys’ debut LP does an excellent job of recreating that classic, southern rock sound typified by bands like CCR and the Allman Brothers. The group’s since gone on to become both critically and commercially successful, so there’s a chance you’ve heard of these guys before. You might even have the CD, but the vinyl version of this album is definitely something you want in your collection, particularly because it contains alternate versions of their cover of The Beatles’ “She Said, She Said,” “Heavy Soul,” and “Yearnin’,” as well as an exclusive cover of The Stooges’ “No Fun.” Other songs to check include “Do The Rump,” “I’ll Be Your Man,” “Countdown,” and “Brooklyn Bound.” All in all it’s 14 tracks, available in standard vinyl or on a limited edition 180g pressing, both packaged in pic sleeve with a great old school design.
