Armand Van Helden is a genius. Way before teaming up with A-Trak on Duck Sauce, AVH was already tearing up dance floors across the globe with releases on seminal NY house label Strictly Rhythm. Many of these releases, done under numerous aliases during the 90’s, have reached classic status – including this prized 12″ right here, done under The Mole People guise. Both “Break Night” and “Ocean” showcase AVH’s innate talent at making people move. The drums alone on “Break Night” are seriously some of the toughest put to wax, but Armand takes it a step further with a killer synth line that easily ranks it up there as an all-time classic floor filler. Worth it for this one alone, but you also get “Ocean” that takes it even deeper and harder. Originally released in 1995, and faithfully repressed and remastered by the good folks at Decks Classix for maximum bump. Recommended.
