Sophomore studio album from Chicago’s Veruca Salt. Eight Arms To Hold You was originally recorded in 1996 as a follow up to their debut, American Thighs. Although the title of the album was the working title for what would become the Beatles’ Help!, the sound is about as far from the British Invasion as possible. Producer Bob Rock turns everything up to eleven, giving Veruca Salt a sound that would make even Rivers Cuomo blush. Nina Gordon and Louise Post deliver catchy melodies as heavy guitars and big drums pound away. Includes the songs: “Volcano Girls,” “Shutterbug,” and “Straight.” Fifteen tracks in all. Released by Geffen Records on black vinyl with a printed inner sleeve.
